These are standard very good student strings . They initially will sound a little harsh. After breaking in they are tolerable. They are a good value and seem to last a long time.

I used This In training for violin, The Tonika for a long time and have exceptional sound. I recommended it for beginners

What a quick, efficient service. The package arrived on the 4th - the following day after ordering. My broken string has been replaced, with others on stand-by in my case!

With 12 years of playing experience , I enjoy playing on Pirastro Tonica Strings. Not only are they suited for the novice violinists, but they can withstand many performances while remaining in tune. These strings are easy on the fingers and they provide a burst of energy to the user after hearing them once. There is not a technique in the world wich sounds bad on these strings. However, controlling your vibrato's will need some practice when switching to these from a gut string. OVERALL THESE STRINGS WILL LAST A LIFETIME, PROVIDING WONDERS FOR THE VIOLINIST. Enjoy lasting years of wear and tear. Sincerely, . Sincerley, Jay

I changed my strings from a basic set to these and even as a beginner I can tell the difference. Mot of my college viola and violin friends use these strings. I recommend investing in a good set of strings to help response and tone quality. I'd recommend these strings to anyone who wants an upgrade, especially if you're in high school or college, take my friends' advice.

These strings are as easy to play as any I've tried. (Saturday, 14 December 2019 14:59)

A violin teacher that I met recommended Tonica Pirastro for my violin because it was sounding sort of thin. He said the Reds would give the instrument a more "meaty" sound. I wasn't sure just what that meant, but I gave them a try. I found them to be very responsive, with a very full sound, especially in the lower end. I now use the Tonicas on two of my violins. Even my luthier noticed the difference in the sound. I was previously using Thomastic Dominant (middle grade), but to me the Tonica are even more forgiving of my heavy hand. We play many outdoor events and these strings seem to be, well, not quite impervious to the weather, but they stay in tune better than others I've used. When dealing with high humidity I usually have more trouble with my bow going slack than with the strings. I have been in situations where my bow has actually used up all of the adjustment while the strings required only minor adjustments to stay in tune.

I just started violin, but I'm still able to tell it sounds better and is able to stay in tune much better than the strings my violin came with.
