I can highly recommend this product, as it increases the life of my strings by about 25%. It keeps my strings cleaner than just using a cotton duster cloth to remove the rosin. Be very careful not to spill any on your instrument.

I also highly recommend this Laubach product having used it for many years. It is excellent at removing both rosin and the build-up of 'crud' that comes from fingers. I have also cleaned the fingerboard itself with this cleaner - always has excellent results.
After cleaning the strings definitely sound better - mostly due to the bow working better because there is less rosin on the string itself - making the tone clearer and less scratchy.
I have used this with both synthetic-core, and gut-core strings, and steel Es (mostly pirastro strings but also with others).

Great Laubach cloth - feels like Im treating the violin & bow as I should!
These cloths are great. I ordered a few of these to replace the 'dishcloths' I previously had in my violin cases and in my maintenance box. They are super soft and the close-knit nature of the cloth means that they pick up rosin dust and other dirt very well indeed. Being so soft the do not feel harsh or abrasive on the instrument or bow stick - quit the opposite - it feels like you are treating the wood with the love and care it should have
